Padmasri Kadri Gopalnath is a renowned Indian saxophonist and one of the pioneers of Carnatic music on the saxophone. He is hailed as the "Saxophone Chakravarthy". So successful has his adaptation of the instrument to Carnatic Music been, that Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, the doyen of Carnatic music, acknowledged Kadri Gopalnath as a true musical genius. Gopalnath has participated in the reputed Jazz Festivals in Prague, Berlin , Mexico, Paris and Royal Albert Hall, London and has toured all over the world. This special concert performed at the Maha Sivarathri Gananjali Music festival at the Chidambaram Sabhapathy Sangeetha Gana Sabha comes as a perfect treat for one and all. Outstanding top ranking accompanists are the highlight of this concert. A.
